Highland County's Music Makers Museum Joins America 250-Ohio Innovation Trail
Music Makers Museum has been named an official location on the American 250-Ohio Innovation Trail! This new experiential driving trail assembles 80+ attractions showcasing Ohio ingenuity.
The Music Makers Museum, a partner on the Innovation Trail, features Ohioan Thomas Edison’s ingenuity in inventing the phonograph and highlights its lasting impact on our culture. With over 50 playable phonographs, visitors can see and hear firsthand the changes from Edison's first tinfoil, table-top, acoustic phonograph in 1877 to the cabinet furniture of the electrified records of the 1920s.
The Innovation Trail is an experiential driving trail of more than 80 sites across Ohio that celebrates the problem-solvers whose ideas reshaped how we move, manufacture, protect, power, feed, and heal. It is the fourth of six planned experiential trails for America 250-Ohio’s signature Trails & Tales program. The Innovation Trail sites are grouped into four categories: Hands-on Ingenuity, The Power of We, Invention with Intention, and Grit to Glory. The Innovation Trail stands as a testament to the state’s spirit of creativity and progress, connecting groundbreaking ideas with the communities that inspire them,” said Lance Woodworth, president and CEO of Destination Toledo and co-chair of the Trails & Tales program. “The Trail’s success depends on strong partners such as Music Makers Museum to showcase how innovation goes from vision to reality.”
