Ravenwood is a beautiful light-filled group lodge on the western edge of the 2,500 acre Highlands Nature Sanctuary. It is an excellent space for groups, retreats, and workshops located 1.5 hours from Cincinnati and Columbus in southern Ohio. Ravenwood is an ideal educational facility for groups pursuing curriculums of nature literacy, deep ecology, natural history, wellness, yoga, meditation, or body-connection. The facility comfortably serves a group of ten.
The Listening Trail is one of the highlights of the Ravenwood facility. The trail, beginning right outside Ravenwood’s back door, descends into a deep valley cut by the Rocky Fork Creek, amidst a beautiful landscape of moss-covered boulders, rock walls, small grottos, and rushing water.
The God’s Country Trail is a 2-mile easy loop trail takes visitors into a bowl of open meadowlands filled with Henslow’s Sparrows, Yellow-Breasted Chats and Yellowthroats, encircled by hillsides and bordered by the Rocky Fork Creek. This trail is exceptionally rich in wildlife, including frequently seen bald eagles and diverse flocks of waterfowl. A bird blind provides outstanding wildlife observation opportunities. This trail can be accessed for the Ravenwood’s Listening trail.
